My Go To Outfit Ideas
I want to share one of my go to outfit idea for busy working women out there.
As a full-time working mom, feeling burned out or stretched too thin is a constant thing I struggle with. One Sunday morning, I rushed out of the house with my daughter to attend the 10 o’clock Sunday morning study. Afterwards, we went to two stores for groceries. All these time, I wore my dress inside out and not noticed a thing. When I got home as I unloading groceries from garage to kitchen I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and only then I thought something looked peculiar with my dress. I thought to myself: “wow, you have just showed your whole community what your dress’s inside look like. Great!” I believe this story not just painted a good picture of my daily life but also of many other working mothers’. This is exactly why I want to share things that not only made my life a little easier, but also improved my life’s quality.
How to create the go-to outfit? Go MONOCHROMATIC!
Yes, monochromatic is the go-to idea I stick with when I put together outfits, and it never failed me. Here’s a few things to pay attention when selecting items for monochromatic outfits.
First, Choose high quality, well made statement pieces (! Important). Pick the ones that will not only last you through years but also pair well with most of your outfits. High quality accessories are the ones will elevate your whole look.
Second, when you’re picking top and bottom, their colors don’t have to be matchy match. As long as they are in the same color family they will be fine. But one thing I found important is that the color tone has to match. If the top is a warm tone piece, the bottom has to be a warm tone piece as well.
Third but not the last is the quality of the garments. I don’t recommend spending fortunes buying name brands, but I don’t recommend buying fast fashion either. After all, your go to outfit is your savior, when everything else failed, your go-to outfit will make your day. They need to stand the test of time or the test of wash. Some of my go-to outfits garments are lightly used designer pieces from TheRealReal. They are guaranteed with quality and design.
I’m wearing:
Top: Alexander Wang from TheRealReal
Bottom: Current/Elliot
Shoes: Chloe
Scarf: Isabel Marant
